Legionella Prevention and Water Treatment Managers Course

Course Overview

Legionella Prevention and Water Treatment Managers course is for those with a responsibility to oversee and plan the safe installation, control and maintenance of water systems within residential properties. Possible candidates include Local Authorities, Housing Associations, Managing Agents and Landlords. The course focuses in particular on the risk assessment process and will enable candidates to understand the requirements of the ACoP document L8, HSE guidance, British Standards and Water Regulations.

With the increased publicity surrounding recent outbreaks of Legionnaires, effective water treatment, including hot & cold water supply systems, is of paramount importance to property managers.

The cost of the course includes training, assessment, the certification fee and a training manual based upon the HSE Approved Code of Practice and Guidance: Legionnaires disease: The control of Legionella bacteria in water systems (L8).

Legionella training for managers is primarily aimed at domestic and small commercial water systems and does not include cooling towers. On completion of the course the candidate will be able to undertake risk assessments.

Entry Requirements

There are no entry requirements for the water treatment course for managers. However candidates should have a good understanding of water systems and current best practices legislation.

Assessment

Candidates will have to complete a written assessment, including a multiple choice paper. Upon successful completion, candidates will be issued with a Legionella Prevention and Water Treatment competence certificate from Logic Certification.
